4th Médoc Grand Cru Classé, Château Talbot comprises 110 hectares of a single 50yr old vineyard in the heart of the Saint-Julien commune, an outstanding appellation as it counts no fewer than 11 classified growths. Ideally situated on the banks of the Gironde estuary on hilltops of alluvial gravel carried by the Dordogne River from the Massif Central and from the Pyrenees by the Garonne, Château Talbot’s terroir is exceptional.

Undeniably, Talbot is one of the most famous Médoc wines. Having been in the same family for more than a century, this estate with more than one hundred hectares of vines produces wine that is recognized for the consistent quality of its vintages. Talbot is a champion of longevity; even young Talbot is pleasant and rounded, always characterized by silky, mild and very civilized tannins. Talbot possesses an expansive character. It’s never withdrawn into itself and has the courtesy of being in a good mood every day. It’s a racy wine, with complex marks of Havana tobacco and liquorice, classically delicious without ever the slightest hint of austerity.

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Hand-harvested, manual and optical sorting, the wine if aged for 16 months in oak barrels (60% new).

In 1918, Désiré Cordier became owner of Château Talbot, one of the most prestigious growths in Saint-Julien. 100 years later, the Bignon-Cordier family, still at the head of the estate, are celebrating this anniversary by unveiling a very special bottle.
To celebrate this memorable anniversary, we have decided to honour this 2018 vintage with a unique screen-printed bottle, for the entire production in 75 cl.
