Although the Kúria is from Etyek, the grapes that grow in the special, mica-soil vineyard that overlooks Lake Fertő are from Sopron. It’s an incredibly rich yet elegant wine with green herbs, ripe sour cherry, a touch of plum and the subtle oak of the long ageing in French and Hungarian barrels.
Producer: A family run vineyard truly committed to reducing their ecological foot print and working sustainably from using solar power, green cover & biodiversity by using a special seed mix developed by the Hungarian Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, placed between rows of vines to help battle erosion & promote biodiversity & healthy soil structure. Opting for light bottles and re using cases.
Farming: Grapes picked by hand, Sustainable .
Winemaking: manual bunch selection, fermented for 14 days on the skin, aided by manual punching down, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Matured for 8 months in 3-4 year old Hungarian 300-litre oak barrels. Vegan.
