Planted in 1890, our old Carignan remains true to itself and fortunately was not affected by the severe frosts of April 2021. Beautiful purple-red robe. The grapes were able to ripen perfectly and offer us a nose with aromas of wild strawberries, fresh grape juice , bay leaves and green pepper. The first mouth is supple, frank and clean. The tannins are silky and the natural freshness of this grape variety maintains a pretty fruit in the mouth, with fig but also spices on the finish. Our old Carignan still reveals, in this vintage, its altitude terroir with its characteristic freshness balancing its sunny side. Only hillside Carignans of this age can offer such uniqueness.
