Domaine Belle, Crozes Hermitage 'Les Pierrelles'

Les Pierrelles comes from terraced vineyards in the communes of Mercurol and Pont d’Isere, where galets roulés, large stones polished by the Rhône, sit on top of red clay soils and give wines of body and intensity with silky tannins that show well young. Philippe gives the grapes a cold maceration which helps bring out perfume, and uses minimal pigeage to ensure a gentle extraction and no harsh tannins. No new oak. A beautiful, pure, expression of Northern Rhone Syrah.
