A lot of care goes into the vineyard works, with soil maintenance done mechanically (no chemicals used at all!), while the harvest is done manually, showing an increased attention to details, thus only the best grapes are selected. This all is to reflect the grape's natural freshness, with bright flavours and aromas of golden apple, ripe pear, rock melon, acacia and honey. The palate is vibrant, fresh and very well balanced, with a prolonged finish. The wine undergoes fermentation and ageing on lees for 14 months, which brings more body to support the high acidity typical to Chenin. No sulphites added at bottling. A wine that's made with care for the environment, but also for it's consumer. What a treat! (PS: great to drink now, but with an amazing cellaring potential too, ready when you are...)

Founded in 2019, when Luc Briand and Bénédicte Petit took over the domaine from the Richou family, 'Terra Vita Vinum' ('Earth Life Wine') is located in the part of the Anjou Noir region of the Loire Valley, south of Angers. Although the domaine is 40 hectare in size only 30 of those are under vine, with the rest used to encourage wildlife and biodiversity. The grapes are grown on three sites: Rogeries, Grand Vau and Clos des Gabouchons composed of schists, volcanic rhyolites, and quartz. The different soil types, the influence of the Loire and its tributaries, the presence of hillsides in Anjou, as well as the Angevine microclimate (it records one of the lowest rainfall rates in the Loire Valley) provide the perfect conditions for a late ripening variety like Chenin Blanc to thrive. It is afterall the king of the Angevine grape varieties for a reason!
