The Darling are organic wine pioneers in New Zealand. After making wine for other people for many years, winemaker Chris Darling and viticulturist Bart Arnst teamed up in 2007 to make great wines under their own label, working with select small and mostly family growers - all certified organic or biodynamic. Bart is a founding member of Organic Winegrowers of New Zealand, and previously worked for Seresin Vineyards, overseeing their conversion to organics. He left in 2005 to provide a consultant service to those interested in organic change and has worked closely with a large percentage of the New Zealand organic winegrower sector.
Bright, aromatic and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, red capsicum, gooseberry and lemongrass flavours boosted by tangy acidity, and a long finish. Sourced from three vineyards in the Wairau Valley, with each parcel fermented according to site. It really builds in the mouth, with a super tangy finish.
